An October Trio from N. J.

Stars and stripes

If God granted you a wish
For everyone of the stars
Wonder what you'd wish for
Money, power, love, cars?

If you were given a chance
For each stripe that was red
How many would you waste
Or would you give them away instead?

Suppose you were given a diamond
For every stripe that was white
Would you just hold them in your hand
Or throw them out deep into the night?

And if you were given freedom
By that red, white, and blue
Would you keep it for yourself
Or fight for another's freedom too?

who is NJ?

Who am i, i cannot say
What would it really matter anyway?

Suppose i were a child no more than nine
Using words like elegant, precocious, and divine?

Or maybe i'm a teenager no more than sixteen
just trying my hand at this writing thing

I could be older say maybe Twenty-three
Ah now there's an age i'd love to be.

What if i were 30, 40, or 50 and so on
i could just keep going until i was gone.

Well now wait a minute that doesn't seem right
i guess we could really go at this the rest of the night.

Who am i, i tell you with a sigh
ok go look in the mirror and wave to me, Hi!

A moment ........

To have come from a moment when all you've seen
Is the pain of millions of others
With their hearts and minds so clean.
Wanting to forget the magic from all their past days
And the love that I gave them no matter what their ways.
It hurts to know your anger, it's something
I never wanted to see
I like your smile and your touch
You feel so good to me.
I cannot bear that I have brought you harm
That was never my intent.
Your happiness means the world to me
That is why I was sent.
