Wreck of the long rumoured "LZ-101.7 Eurenburg"?: The existence of the 1930's dirigible Eurenburg has been unverified from the very beginning. No authorities on dirigibles ever make mention of it. Frank Stephenson nor Tom Parramore nor Alice Eley Jones have wrote of it in their books. All authors have been puzzled at the mention of the Eurenburg. Yet hundreds of attendees of the October 1938 Chowan Homecoming game claim to have seen its passing over the football field on its first and last flight which was a white-lightning run from Eure to Potecasi. No one has revealed the names of its builders and of its mysterious end. Is this photograph, taken in the back of Parker Robbins' farm outside of Cofield, that of the Eurenburg, or should I add a page about Hurricane Isabel and a carport? P.S. My father, T.W. Jones, actually saw the L-Z 129 Hindenburg pass over Manhattan minutes before it was destroyed in May,1937. He had nothing to do with that.
