First, let me explain that my mother's written name was Clario - full name Pearlene Clario Robbins Jones - but she was known to her parents, and therefore the rest of us as "Clairo". Momma reared four children. She looked after her parents, her husband, his store, her friends, her relatives and her church. She raised chickens, squash, cucumbers, snap peas, butterbeans, kale, collards, cabbage, cantaloupes,watermelons, turnips, carrots, potatoes, onions, beets, red peppers, green bell peppers, sweet corn, and lastly, callouses and corns. The latter two grew regardless of the season and she pruned them regularly. Not including clippers, razors, knives and scissors, here are some of Clairo's tools.

"Allow to Remain in Contact
with Corn for 2 or 3 days.
Then soak in hot water and remove the corn with fingers."
Vicious stuff that smells like airplane glue concentrate! It must also remove nose hairs. A glass rod is used to apply. Flammable and probably inflammable, too.
