ASTRONOMY IN ROANOKE-CHOWAN
Here are two astrophotographs I made of the moon during the October 26th lunar eclipse. The photograph below was taken with a 5-inch reflecting telescope and the one on the right was made with a regular telephoto lens. I'd like to do more sky photography, preferably in Roanoke-Chowan where the skies are clearer and darker!
Astronomy is a hobby of mine and I use 5- and 12-inch mirror telescopes on the farm outside of Cofield. It is always great to recognize the Great Square of Pegasus, the Summer Triangle and that little bunch of stars we all think is the Little Dipper.

If there is anyone in the Roanoke-Chowan area who shares my interest or who wants to see the wonders of the sky, please contact me and I'll set up a night of viewing either on my farm or out your way. I'll also keep you informed of upcoming happenings in astronomy that we can all view.

You can see other great images of space and earth on NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day.
